John Coyne III, WBA President

John Coyne III, CEO and President, Big Horn Federal Savings Bank, Greybull has been elected to serve as President of the Wyoming Bankers Association for the next year.

John Joseph Coyne III is a forty-two-year-old native of the State of Wyoming being born and raised in Greybull Wyoming. John attended the University of Wyoming in 1994 originally attending the Engineering College with a career path towards Architectural Engineering, before finally settling in the Business College and receiving his degree in Business Finance. John started his career with American National Bank in Cheyenne Wyoming in 1998 during his final year of college, commuting back and forth between work and school. John held multiple titles with American National Bank until ultimately serving as a Market President in Gillette Wyoming, prior to returning home in 2008 as Big Horn Federal’s chief credit officer. In 2010, John was named CEO and President of Big Horn Federal Savings Bank and is currently serving as the Board of Directors Chairman.

 

John has always been civic minded. John has historically served on the Board of Directors for the United Way Chapters in both Cheyenne and Gillette. In addition to those historic posts, he is now honored to be serving his fourth year on the Gottsche Rehabilitation Center’s Board of Trustees. John is also in the middle of his 3-year term with the Kansas City Federal Reserve on its Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council. With his unique relationship with the University of Wyoming, he has been invited multiple times over the last 16 years to speak about his experiences in Banking to prospective students. John has a great drive to invest his time, knowledge and resources in the youth of his hometown and the surrounding communities, through Big Horn Federal and the local Elks club, providing for local Hoop Shoot contests and Punt, Pass and Kick platforms. He is a member of the Greybull Volunteer Fire Department serving, as their Treasurer for the last 8 years along with those responsibilities of being an active firefighter. If he is not recognized through those circles, many throughout the state may recognized him as a High School Basketball official with his 18 years of service. Although John is extremely proud of his state and community, nothing is more important to him than his family. John’s lovely wife Kim has been impacting kids for over 19 years as a special education teacher and they have two boys John J. Coyne IV and Quin Langston Coyne.
